The city of 7 hills, sat on the Tagus river charms all who visit. Confirmed a green list country for British travelers, more people than ever are thinking about a trip to Portugal. As one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Europe, Lisbon will no doubt be in the spotlight. As part of a big road trip around Portugal a few years back, we stopped in Lisbon more than once to experience a city buzzing with youthful optimism, yet still so traditionally Portuguese.

Few things are more romantisced in the travel space than ~The Road Trip ~. Rightly so in my opinion, for there is nothing I love more than being on the road. We have seen some incredible sights and have built up a pretty impressive list of places we’ve fallen in love with along the way. I have put together a list of places you’d be foolish not to visit on your next road trip around the UK!

n early September, we found ourselves with a week off work and had (loosely) planned a camper trip. We knew we were off on a road trip, destination yet to be confirmed. We love our camper, our t4, but his spray paint job lasted longer than we anticipated and when the week off arrived, we were two campers minus a van.

Last autumn we were seeking a cosy weekend away. We wanted to enjoy our days outside admiring the changing season and our evenings snuggled up by the fire. Earlier this year we were lucky enough to be able to stay at Log Jam cabin, nestled away within Little Menherion. I had been watching the build of this gorgeous cabin for a couple of years after seeing an article about Little Menherion in The Rolling Home magazine. Knowing it had recently been completed, it was the first place I thought of when we found ourselves looking for a last minute getaway.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from Venice. I had once seen it described as half beauty half tourist trap and I wasn’t sure which side i would cling to. It’s true that this city is both. It’s magical and chaotic and I am so grateful to have seen it at least once in my life. We spent only a day in Venice and when I look back at my photos it seems like a faraway dream, which I guess is all part of the charm.
