We visited this dreamy getaway a couple of years back, and were lucky enough to be invited back this Spring to check out The Den. Kip & Nook has a complete collection of unique and quirky places to stay from cosy converted containers and off-grid hideaways to a barn big enough for up to 8 guests. More recently they have even introduced luxurious camping pitches so there is quite literally a stay for everyone in mind. Whichever accommodation you opt for, a peaceful break away from the chaos of daily life is guaranteed. From the moment you arrive to check in at The Workshop, you’ll find complimentary welcome drinks waiting and the friendliest staff ready to cater to all your needs. We knew we loved Kip & Nook the first time we visited, but they have truly leveled up and are constantly adding more magic additions to create the most memorable stay. You can now order breakfast, enjoyed in their brand new breakfast room, treat yourself to a wellness experience, whether that’s with a yoga session, relaxing in the Breathing Room or indulging in the ultimate Kirami Wellness Experience and spend the evening hanging out in The Workshop sipping cocktails and eating freshly made pizza. STAYING AT THE DEN, KIP & NOOK
Completely off-grid and the most secluded of all the hideaways, The Den is a hidden escape like no other. It is the perfect option for those who want that cabin-in-the-country feel without compromising on luxury and comfort. The Den feels super spacious, enhanced by the big windows and tall ceiling but still manages to retain that rustic and cosy cabin feel, with a clever use of soft furnishings and colourful artwork. Slide back the doors to reveal an inviting Scandi-inspired cabin, with a warm wooden interior and giant windows facing out to the wildflower fields. You’ll find no blinds here at The Den, that’s how secluded we’re talking. Just you, someone special and a perfect view of the Yorkshire countryside. There’s a focus on disconnection here and as such, distractions are few. There’s no wifi and no TV, in fact the whole cabin is completely off-grid to encourage you to switch off. There’s a fully equipped kitchen for cooking and a dining table to enjoy your meals, as well as a dreamy living space featuring the most comfortable, snooze-inducing sofa and a log burning fire for those colder evenings. There’s a modern bathroom inside too with a double-sink, toilet and waterfall shower. More magic awaits outside. Your large private decking area leads around to the fire-pit, which is the perfect spot to relax and toast marshmallows in the evenings as well as an outdoor dining table for alfresco dinners. Perhaps best of all, you’ll also find your own private wood-burning hot tub (already lit of course, because that’s the attention to detail to can expect from the guys at Kip & Nook) where you can sit back, soak and watch the sunset. If that’s not enough, follow the decking around to the back of the cabin to find the dreamy outdoor shower where you can experience a shower like no other, completely surrounded by nature. When you’re sufficiently relaxed and ready for bed, head back inside and climb the industrial ladder up to the first-floor mezzanine where your super king bed is waiting for you. Pull back the soft sheets and hunker down, ready for the most peaceful sleep of your life. From your own personal parking space outside the cabin, to little details like being left a hand-written welcome note, the hot tub lit and ready for use and fluffy robes waiting, you are guaranteed to be completely looked after during your stay at The Den. The guys at Kip & Nook take care of all the little details so you don’t have to. We loved our stay. We spent our mornings waking up slowly with the sunlight streaming through the windows, sipping morning coffee on the decking before spending the entire day practicing the art of doing absolutely nothing. Evenings were reserved for a cocktail or two, followed by soaking in the tub and sitting around the fire pit. Total bliss.
THE WORKSHOP AT KIP & NOOK
The workshop is the perfect funky hangout that sets this hideaway experience apart from all others and has come a long way since we last visited. This space is where you’ll now find a fully-stocked bar serving up cocktails (we insist you choose the cocktail named after your hideaway for extra fun points!), the pizza ovens fired up and ready for dinner, a coffee bar situated in the new shop, a new breakfast room (that honestly looks like a full-on Scandi Cafe) and a games room to keep you entertained. There’s a gym inside for those who don’t want to skip their workout, a yoga studio upstairs and you can now even check out the race room, stacked to the brim with the coolest cars in what can only be described as every car-lovers dream den, featuring a driving simulator. Whether you’re relaxing with a latte in front of the fire or sipping beers over a game of pool, there’s something for everyone waiting in the workshop and it’s such a fun addition to your hideaway retreat.
FIRE AND ICE AT THE KIRAMI X KIP&NOOK WELLNESS EXPERIENCE
The hideaways alone at Kip & Nook force you to slow down and unwind, but you can take it a step further by indulging in a wellness treat. The sauna and plunge pool ritual is an age-old practice that has been universally enjoyed throughout history. In an increasingly stressful world, the sauna is being used more than ever to relax and recharge. One of the latest additions to Kip & Nook is the Kirami Wellness Experience, a beautifully designed outdoor spa, where you can immerse yourself in this ancient bathing tradition. Listen to the sizzle of water poured over the hot stones, as you sweat it out in the sauna before you plunge yourself into the ice bath or cold drench shower for an invigorating awakening of the senses. Afterwards, relax in your private seating area with your own fire pit as you take in the views of the surrounding countryside. A NIGHT TO REMEMBER
If our stay at Kip & Nook wasn’t wonderful enough, we were lucky to visit during a freak solar storm this Spring. After an evening of soaking in the hot tub and toasting marshmallows around the fire, we were treated to the most whimsical display of the Northern Lights dancing across the sky. There’s a magic in the air at Kip & Nook and the colourful display only made our stay more special.
THE KIP & NOOK CULTURE
The reason we’re so obsessed with Kip & Nook is their serious attention to detail. A stay here genuinely feels like you’re being let in to some super cool exclusive club but without the pretentiousness. Kip & Nook has a style that’s completely their own - a cool, laid-back culture that makes you want to arrive and never leave. The team are beyond attentive from before you book up until you leave. They will get to know you to recommend your perfect hideaway and cater to your needs the entirety of your stay, but in this chilled-out, smother-free way that whispers ‘we’re here as much or as little as you need us’. No request is too big and if you simply what to be left alone, that’s cool too. Whatever way you wish to staycation, they’ve got you. There’s a massive emphasis on treating yourself to a little luxury here. Whether that’s by indulging in a cocktail and pizza in the workshop, getting zen in the breathing room or Kirami wellness experience or treating yourself to the art of doing absolutely nothing, you’ll find a sense of peace and calm here, which is of course, the ultimate luxury.
