SNAPSHOTS FROM MADEIRA, PORTUGAL’S SUBTROPICAL ISLAND
Portugal’s adventure island is fast becoming the ultimate tourist hot spot. Within hours of being on the island, it’s obvious why. This subtropical haven plopped in the Atlantic has more in common with Jurassic Park than it does mainland Portugal. Think vibrant green valleys, jagged peaks piercing through misty clouds and black rocky beaches that stretch out to meet the bright blue waters of the Atlantic. Travelling through Madeira is a spiritual experience. There’s quite literally an air of magic in the subtropical North as you lace up your hiking boots and trek along the Levada trails and a true sense of zen waiting along the sun-drenched beaches of the South. Here is a collection of snaps from our trip this June, featuring just a smidgen of the beauty on offer in Madeira.
