GOODBYE JANUARY BLUES
There is nothing I love more than having the opportunity to spend a long weekend away in the countryside. Having somewhere booked for January is always welcomed as I find the post-christmas gloom of the month can be overwhelmingly dreary. As it turns out The Dragon’s Rest, a trio of cosy cabins with glorious views across rolling fields, was the perfect place to get away for a reset.
THE DRAGON’S REST
The aptly named Dragon’s Gate is a family farm that sits on the border of Wales. Perfectly perched on a hill of the farm is The Dragon’s Rest, three luxury cabins overlooking the Monnow Valley and the Black Mountains in the distance. Each cabin has a king-sized bed, a seating area, a chaise, kitchenette and en-suite bathroom, yet still all remain unique in their own way. We stayed in The Cat’s Back, named after the mountain on the horizon, and enjoyed three nights of luxurious glamping. With a fire pit and outdoor bath on the balcony overlooking stunning hill views and incredible walking trails right from the doorstep, we had everything we could possibly need to enjoy the great outdoors, with the added luxury of staying comfy and cosy. We left The Dragon’s Rest feeling restored and ready for the new year, with a sneaky suspicion that we would be back before we knew it.
